Our Little Free Library is a small, community-run book exchange that encourages reading and sharing. Anyone can take or leave a book, fostering literacy, connection, and neighborhood engagement through free, accessible literature. Please feel free to take or leave a book that you think would be useful to our community.

The Little Free Library

Origins

In the early days of the COVID epidemic, April 2021,  the Bull Dog Park saw the installation of the Little Free Library. It had taken a year to obtain permission from the City of Philadelphia and sign a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) which outlined responsibilities for usage of city property.

Funding for the Library was provided by Catherine Lawrence, LFL Steward, as well as a grant that was given by the Fairmount Civic Association. Fairmount Hardware at 21st and Fairmount has provided free of charge support for materials needed when the box was vandalized.

Location: the LFL at Bull Dog Park is listed on the map page (110309)
